Bio:
With 20 national parks protecting over 30% of the country's impressive landscapes, a diverse array of activities, dense animal populations and an array of lodges and camps, it is hard to see why Zambia is still relatively unknown, compared to the big-hitter safari destinations of Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa and Botswana, anyway.
It may be partly down to international flight access that Zambia doesn't claim as many visitors as the countries above each year. However, for those willing to travel a couple more hours or take that extra flight, a wild, untapped, safari experience of yesteryear is waiting for you.
Along with luxury lodges rivalling any high-end safari destination, what we really think sets Zambia apart are the small, owner-run properties, pioneering the protection of a certain space, catering for those with a certain interest or merely to facilitate the chance to see one or two special species.
While the iconic safari characters, range of activities and attractive price may tempt you to visit Zambia for the first time, you will keep coming back for over 700 bird species, hides as close to the action as possible, remote walking safaris and the warmth you'll find in the this, the heart of Africa.
