Bio:

One of Africa's most stable democracies Botswana has crafted a name for itself in the safari circuit by deciding to pursue a low-density, high quality tourism model to preserve is wilderness areas and it's working! A Botswana safari is normally synonymous with luxury lodges, pristine environments and excellent wildlife.

While the most costly lodges in peak season charge upwards of $4,800 per person per night and as a destination it is well known for where some of the British royal family take their holidays it isn't just the reserve of the rich and famous. If you know where to look, you are flexible on your accommodation style and you know when to go to maximise your budget it can still offer one of the most sublime safari experiences on the continent for most budgets.

While the labyrinthine Okavango Delta often steals the headlines (and quite rightly), balance the watery north of the country with the Central Kalahari Game Reserve or the Great Salts Pans to the south for a complete experience.

Don't miss out on the chance to glide silently through reed-linned channels on a traditional mokoro or to learn how to survive in the desert from the San people of the Kalahari.
