Bio:

Gomoti Plains Camp is an all time favourite of Faran Travel given our own experiences here over the years and also that of travellers we have sent here. Have a look at our Victoria Falls and Okavango Delta Explorer Holiday for an idea of a trip including Gomoti Plains Camp, that combines Gomoti Plains with Chobe Bakwena and Ilala Lodge.

It is a comfortable but not over the top luxury tented safari camp in the NG32 concession of the Okavango Delta. It is a beautiful area and situated just south of the famous Chitabe and Sandibe concessions. It is in this part of the Okavango Delta where you find large tracts of dry land to traverse and some of the most consistent wildlife viewing in Botswana. The only downside we can see is that water-acuities are more limited than some areas and they do depend on water levels. However, generally Gomoti Plains has mokoro trips and boat safari available between June and November. But please do check with us for the latest information.

The camp itself is made up of 10 spacious tents including two family units which are made up of two tents linked by a living areas, a large deck and a shared bathroom to the rear. While children of all ages are accepted (under 6 you will need to book a private vehicle) this is a wild area and quite a relaxed but refined camp that might not be suitable for younger children.

The rooms are entirely canvas and the whole camp is designed so that if it was removed within 1.5 years you would not know it had ever been there. At the front of each room is an elevated deck facing the river and the floodplains (and the wildlife) beyond. We particularly like that you can roll up the sides of the sides of the tent exposing just the gauze, bringing the outside in. Even better if there is an elephant right outside your tent!

In the central area there is an open-plan lounge and dining room, full of seating areas and little nooks to hide away with a book. This opens out almost onto a beach beside the river, a favourite place for candlelit suppers. There is a also a central swimming pool.
