Bio:

Ruaha National Park is one of Tanzania's largest and most diverse national parks, located in the heart of the country. Encompassing an area of approximately 20,226 square kilometers (7,809 square miles), Ruaha is renowned for its vast savannah plains, rugged landscapes, and rich biodiversity. The park is situated at the transition zone where eastern and southern African flora and fauna overlap, resulting in a unique and diverse ecosystem.

Ikuka is somewhat of a disappearing rarity in Tanzania, and to some degree Africa, in that it is still owner-run and managed. Couple Mark and Chloe Sheridan-Johnson built Ikuka in 2016 with the help of renowned safari camp architect Neil Rocher.

Nestled atop the Ikuka escarpment, this luxurious camp provides guests with breathtaking panoramic views of the park's diverse terrain. The camp's intimate setting, with just seven beautifully designed guest tents, ensures exclusivity and personalised service. Each tent is elegantly furnished and equipped with modern amenities, blending seamlessly with the surrounding wilderness.

Guests can embark on game drives and bush walks led by experienced guides, encountering a wealth of wildlife including elephants, lions, leopards and buffalo. Hot air balloon flights are available between June and October and Ikuka also has a stunning 'Rock House' fly-camping experience.

Ikuka supports and hosts several conservation initiatives in camp working with the guiding team to provide vital data and in fundraising efforts. These include the Southern Tanzania Elephant Project (STEP), The Wildlife Connection and Ruaha Carnivore Project (RCP).
