Bio:
Located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the Laikipia region of central Kenya, Kicheche Laikipia, along with its sister properties in Kenya, are a stand out option.
While many camps in Kenya can boast great wildlife viewing in an exclusive setting and a stunning camp, we find it is the guiding, the activities and the attention to detail that just makes the Kicheche Camps a brilliant choice. Whether it is your first time on safari, you are keen photographer or avid birdwatcher, you won't be disappointed by Kicheche Laikipia.
The Ol Pejeta Conservancy sits in the shadow of a looming Mount Kenya and it is often celebrated for its commitment to conservation, particularly for endangered species such as the black and white rhinos, including the last two northern white rhinos in the world. The camp is in the low vehicle density wilderness zone of the conservancy and the wildlife viewing is a very private and rewarding activity. As well as rhinos there is a diverse array of other wildlife to be seen including elephant, lion, cheetah and abundant plains game. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy also permits night game drives which focus on species not seen on regular day drives.
While in Ol Pejeta, you can visit the Morani Center and the endangered species enclosure with the last remaining northern white rhinos, the chimpanzees sanctuary, or pay a visit to the anti-poaching dogs (some activities are an additional fee). For the more active visitors, canoeing, horse riding, mountain biking and bush walks are all possible.
The camp features just six tented suites, each equipped with en-suite bathrooms and private verandas overlooking the stunning savannah. Designed to blend seamlessly with the natural environment, the tents provide an intimate and comfortable retreat. Guests can enjoy modern amenities while being surrounded by wildlife, ensuring a unique and immersive safari experience. The camp's communal areas include a cozy lounge and dining tent, where delicious meals are served, and guests can share stories of their adventures. Kicheche Laikipia is perfect for those seeking both luxury and a close connection to nature.
