Bio:

For a camp with just five guest chalets to say that Musekese punches above its weight in terms of the difference it has made to their area of the Kafue and the animals call it home, would be an understatement.

The raison d'etre of Tyrone McKeith and Phil Jeffery, who started the camp in 2013, was to develop an eco-tourism business to provide employment to local people and fund the protection of wildlife and the environment.

One the USPs of staying at Musekese Camp, compared to other camps in Zambia or elsewhere in Africa, is that guests can really feel and understand this underlying passion. For example they can get involved with researchers or meet anti-poaching teams and even help to identify individual animals they see (particularly predators) using ID booklets.

The camp itself is perched on a lagoon nicknamed 'Eden Lagoon' and the five canvas tents have large net sides that can be rolled up to make the most the views. Inside the rooms are rustically furnished with a large bed and adjacent bathroom, complete with a flushing toilet and a shower with on-demand hot water (rather than a bucket shower).

A whole host of activities are available here including game drives, walking safaris, boat safaris, canoe safaris and there is also a treehouse hide not too far from camp.
