When to go? It is possible to do this trip throughout the year. Each month offering something slightly different. Birdwatchers will want to visit during the rainy season, from Nov to Mar, but for the best wildlife conditions visit during the high season from Jun to Oct.

Pick up your hire car

Upon arrival in Namibia you will be met by our local team and assisted with the pick up of your hire, which will be trusty companion over the next 8 days, taking you as far as Kasane in Botswana.

1 night Okonjima Plains Camp, Central Highlands

From Windhoek Airport drive in your new hire car north for around 3 hours to the Okonjima Nature Reserve, for your first safari experience in Namibia. Depending on flight times it may be necessary to overnight in Windhoek on your first night.

You will have the chance to explore the Okonjima Nature Reserve on game drives and bush walks.

2 nights Onguma Bush Camp, Etosha National Park

From Okonjima Plains Camp, drive north to the eastern edge of Etosha National Park for 2 nights at Onguma Bush Camp.

You have a full day on safari. You can either choose to explore the adjacent Etosha National Park independently or on a guided trip with the lodge or on activities around the private reserve with guides from Onguma Bush Camp.

2 nights RiverDance Lodge, Zambezi Region

The environment changes as you depart from Etosha and drive into the Zambezi Region (previously known as the Caprivi Strip), a landscape dominated by major rivers, rather than desert.

2 nights Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge, Zambezi Region

Head deeper into the Zambezi Region as you drive east to the edge of the Nkasa Rupara National Park.

Boat trips, game drives and bush walks are all possible to explore this wild area, which is especially good in the dry season.

2 nights Chobe Bakwena Lodge

Cross into Botswana and to the edge of Chobe National Park for 2 nights at Chobe Bakwena, a lovely eco-lodge nestled in riverine vegetation on the edge of the Chobe River.

Activities are included to explore Chobe National Park by boat cruise or game drive, local village visits and cycling trips are also possible.

2 nights Pioneers Victoria Falls

From Chobe Bakwena Lodge, you will be picked up and taken across the border into Zimbabwe in a shared road transfer for your final 2 nights.

A full day to see the legendary Victoria Falls

You final full day in Africa is spent around Victoria Falls, you might like to see the mighty waterfall in the morning and perhaps take a boat cruise or browse the town and the markets in the afternoon.
