Bio:
Zimbabwe, along with its neighbour Zambia, isn't always considered when thinking about where to go for a safari trip. Perhaps often thought of as an intrepid safari destination, the preserve of hardcore safari aficionados. Indeed it does attract a high proportion of return travellers. However, recent improvements to infrastructure, logistics and new lodge offerings have made it more traveller friendly and we think it should be on everyone's bucket-list.
Waiting to be discovered are five Unesco World Heritage Sites, the best guiding on the continent, up-close wildlife experiences, diverse activities, mighty rivers and ancient history.
A trip to Zimbabwe often starts or finishes at Victoria Falls, one of the world's largest waterfalls and known to be the greatest curtain of falling water in the world. You may decide to combine this with another area of Zimbabwe such as Hwange National Park, located just a few hours drive away or fly to the stunning Mana Pools. Equally, it is easy to visit Victoria Falls in combination with a safari in Botswana via a road transfer from Kasane, or even Kenya, due to the direct flight link between Victoria Falls and Nairobi.
